Learning To Rest Without Permission

I used to think rest was something you earned.

After a long day.
After solving enough problems.
After finishing enough tasks.
After people stopped needing me.

But rest isn’t a reward — it’s a requirement.

London reminded me of that the hard way.

When your body finally shuts you down, it isn’t betraying you.
It’s rescuing you.
It’s saying:
“I’ve asked politely. You didn’t listen. Now I’m taking over.”

I’m learning to rest earlier.
Rest softer.
Rest without guilt.
Rest before collapse.
Rest because my body deserves partnership, not punishment.

Rest isn’t what interrupts productivity.
Rest is what sustains it.
